USOC is here to stay,
an article from
The Gazette, reports
that on Monday, the U.S.
Olympic Committee officially
accepted an offer designed
to keep its headquarters in
Colorado Springs. USOC
chairman of the board Peter
Ueberroth said, "This is a
home run for this
community." Colorado
Springs can now bill itself
as the hometown of the USOC
and use the Olympic rings
and other trademarks in
marketing. Colorado Springs
Mayor Lionel Rivera said
people might have been aware
that the Springs housed the
USOC, but the city plans to
use the partnership to its
full advantage. One
important part of the
incentive package is
that the city and Colorado
Springs real estate company
LandCo Equity Partners will
provide the USOC with 90,000
square feet of office space
in a downtown building,
which will serve as a new
headquarters for the USOC.
The organization will be
allowed to lease the space
for $1 a year over 25 years,
and will assume ownership of
the building at the end of
that period.

Is There Room For DotHomes?,
an article from
RealtyTimes.com,
reports that Douglas de
Jager launched an
American-version of
DotHomes.
DotHomes uses super-powered
search algorithms to pump
out listings of homes as
fast as you can type in a
ZIP code. Instead of
relying upon brokers, agents
and multiple listing
services to supply listings,
often for a fee, DotHomes
has its own search machine
to reach out and grab
listings from wherever they
appear online. In order to
help pay for the site, De
Jager hopes to persuade the
real estate industry to
advertise with Dot-Homes.
According to De Jager, a new
business model is just what
the market needs.
