USOC weighs offer to leave city, an article from The Gazette, reports that the U.S. Olympic Committee is weighing offers to move its headquarters and Olympic Training Center out of the city.  USOC wants Springs officials to submit a proposal by mid-October that would commit the city to leading an effort to find new space.  The city has approached four different development companies for assistance in coming up with a proposal for USOC facilities.  Vice Mayor Larry Small said the discussions with USOC have centered on a plan to relocate USOC headquarters to a new location in the city and expanding the Olympic Training Center on its current site.

Rates on 30-year mortgages fall, an article from USA Today, reports that after two consecutive increases, rates on 30-year mortgages fell this week.  On Thursday, Freddie Mac reported that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.37% this week, down from 6.42% last week.  A popular choice for refinancing, 15-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.03% this week, down from 6.09% last week.  Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 6.11%, down from 6.15% last week.
